Electrical Installation
Entry Requirement
Successfully completed the Senior Secondary School Education and offered subjects such as: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language.
Content
These qualifications give you an internationally recognised accreditation of your skills and knowledge in electrical engineering. This is the most comprehensive electrical course available, and there is a large amount of practical training on specialist skills including but not limited to commercial and domestic installation, three phase systems, armoured cable, pipe bending techniques, and trunking.
- Level 1(Certificate) is for a frontline worker who wants a broad introduction to the theory and practical side of electrical installation.
- Level 2 (Diploma) will increase your knowledge and practical skills so that you can take on more responsibilities, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Level 3 (Advanced Diploma) will provide you with advanced knowledge and skills to work independently, supervise others, and manage resources.
Assessment
You will be assessed on your knowledge via multiple choice and/or written exams. Your practical skills will be assessed through assignments and demonstrations observed by qualified assessors.
Career Pathways/Progression
Skills acquired from these qualifications can help you work in roles such as:
- Electrical Engineer
- Electrical Technician
- Electrical Goods Sales Assistant
- Electrical Linesperson
- Electrical Mechanic
- Supervisor/Team Leader
- Construction Supervisor/Manager
Once you have completed the Level 3 Advanced Diploma, you can move on to Level 4 qualifications in construction or management. At this stage you may even consider a move into higher education.
